I have been around bluegrass ever since I was a small child and am fascinated with it. Lately, I’ve been thinking about learning how to play the guitar. I go to a lot of jam sessions and want to be able to join in by playing an instrument of my own. Choosing a beginner acoustic guitar is something I know I am going to need a bit of help with. Once I voiced my desire to play guitar it seems like everybody I know has been telling me what I should be looking for. Of course, every one of them has different suggestions or recommendations. It was too much for me to differentiate since most of the opinions were biased. (more…)

My friends and I who are into K-pop went to a concert where there a lot of groups performing, including one called BTS. BTS was the last group to perform, so we had to sit through the whole concert just to see them. The other groups were nice, but they couldn’t hold a candle to BTS. We love all of the BTS members, but my favorite is Rap Monster. Since my friends have their own favorite members, we get into arguments about which ones are better than others.
Our seats at the concert were so far back that we needed binoculars to get a better view of the performers on stage. We saw a lot of people in audience holding their phones while they recorded the performances. If I were closer to the stage, I would have probably done this, but with how low quality the camera on my phone is, it would have been a wasted effort, since the video would have looked terrible. I have started to fix my problem with not having enough music to get me through my work day. Of course the boss is not really all that interested in this sort of problem and they are blocking sites like Pandora which I would probably use if I had the choice. I have been using this site called mp3 skull to help convert music from Youtube and then I put it on my dropbox. I have this app called cloud player which is really great for the purpose that I have in this matter. The only problem with it is that it limits the number of different cloud services that you can use to this end. I have been checking around and there are a lot of different cloud providers, all of which allow you to give a certain amount of free space, a few gigabytes in general. (more…)
I have been trying to form a band with some of my friends from school, but it is not really working out so well right now. We are lacking in the vocal area and it is really handcuffing us right now. Of course I could take some singing lessons and I would be pretty decent probably. I am already good enough to some harmonies with a better singer, but to this point we have not been able to find a good singer who is interested. We know this girl at school who is really quite good, but she does not have any interested in doing this. (more…)
I was born in America to parents who were both born here as well. All four of my grandparents were born in India though, so I had a mixed heritage growing up. I am very much an American, but I do love some of the Indian traditions that all of my grandparents have taught me. When I became engaged to my best friend, I knew that we were going to have a mix of American and Indian customs at our wedding. I went to songs.pk to start looking at the different kinds of songs that we could download for our very special day. (more…)
I am getting serious about learning the piano and after about ten years of classes I am sort of making a little money from. I have a classical music dictionary that I know almost by heart, but right now I am playing the electric piano in this band which plays parties and weddings and things like that. I had never played an electric piano before and I had never performed any of the songs they wanted me to play, but they were desperate and they took a chance. The other guy had stormed out over some sort of dispute. (more…)

There are many benefits in learning to play a musical instrument for anyone of any age. I myself learned the value of patience and focus thanks to the numerous piano competition s I enrolled in. The benefits for young children who start learning a musical instrument from a young age are also apparent. With such a wide choice of musical instruments available, it might seem difficult in choosing the correct musical instrument for your child to learn. Remember, there will be other factors to consider including the initial cost of the instrument, any up keep and maintenance costs, not forgetting ensuring that the musical instrument remains attractive to learn as it did when it was first being considered. Furthermore, factors such as the size of the instrument through to the volume that it creates can also play a major role in determining what instrument is going to be the most appropriate to learn. Whichever musical instrument in eventually chosen, the chances are that it will provide hours, and years of enjoyment to the person learning it.
Age is also a big factor in considering the type of musical instrument to start learning. For example, young children aren’t going to be able to control an instrument as well as adults. (more…)
I have been playing the piano since I was an 8 year old child. My Mom and Dad both taught me different things. In fact my Mom really loves Jazz and my Dad is a veteran of a traveling road house band. He would play old Rhythm and Blues, Boogie Woogie and the sort of thing you would like if you were some place other than sober. I am looking to expand my repertoire upon the piano and keyboards right now. I am 19 and a half years old and I have been checking out piano sites looking for the best selection of material to suit my style. I am sort of curious as to whether or not I can cut it as a pro. I have just gotten back from the Indian subcontinent. It is an interesting place, but of course it is very difficult to get around and the situation is very different from what an American from the South is used to. The biggest city we have is the size of the neighborhoods of New Delhi I suppose. Of course you can not listen to the latest hindi songs very easily in Summerfield, but you can get around there in no time at all relatively speaking because there are hardly any people. In New Delhi you literally have to worry about getting caught up in stampede. (more…)
