I have been playing the piano since I was an 8 year old child. My Mom and Dad both taught me different things. In fact my Mom really loves Jazz and my Dad is a veteran of a traveling road house band. He would play old Rhythm and Blues, Boogie Woogie and the sort of thing you would like if you were some place other than sober. I am looking to expand my repertoire upon the piano and keyboards right now. I am 19 and a half years old and I have been checking out piano sites looking for the best selection of material to suit my style. I am sort of curious as to whether or not I can cut it as a pro. I played in bands that played random parties, just a little when I was 14 and then more steadily when I got in to High School. Of course we could never really find all the ingredients. There was always one or two guys who were a little off the tempo or a little out of key, or worse they thought they were awesome when they were merely sufficient. I am not really sure how good I am, but I am going to college full time and I am working part time in a piano bar. Occasionally I sit in with these guys my Dad hooked me up with. All of them are at least 45 years old, but of course Jagger is a lot older than that and he is still out there singing songs he and Keith Richards wrote thirty and forty years ago. These guys are really good, but nearly all of them are pretty much set for life. One of them was in a band that had about five years of hits and he lives well off his royalty checks and his investments.
